Privacy Policy

Welcome to PixelEngine. We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of our service.

PixelEngine is a fully browser-based image processing tool. Images you process are handled entirely on your local device and are never transmitted to our servers or any third-party server.

We do not collect, store, or transmit any images or files you process.

We may collect the following limited anonymous information:

• Standard web server logs collected by Vercel (our hosting provider), including IP address, timestamp, browser type, country, and device type;
• UI preference settings stored in your browser's localStorage (e.g., output format, quality slider position);
• Cookie consent status stored in localStorage under the key pixelengine_consent.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking scripts.

All image processing operations are performed locally in your browser via WebAssembly, using MozJPEG, libwebp SIMD, OxiPNG, and libaom. Your files do not pass through our servers at any point during processing, and no copy of your files is retained anywhere in our systems.

We use the following third-party services:

• Vercel — hosting and CDN. Vercel may collect standard server access logs. See Vercel's Privacy Policy;
• Stripe (coming soon) — when paid features launch, payment information will be processed through Stripe. PixelEngine never stores your card details.

This website does not use cross-site tracking cookies. We only use browser localStorage to save your UI preferences and consent status. This data is stored only on your device and is not accessible to us.

You can clear localStorage data at any time through your browser settings.

PixelEngine retains no user data. Vercel server logs are retained for approximately 30 days per their policy, then automatically deleted. localStorage data resides solely on your device until you choose to clear it.

This service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Because we do not collect or store personal data, most privacy rights (access, deletion, portability, etc.) are satisfied by default.

This service is operated from the United States. If you access it from the EU, UK, or other regions, your use of the service constitutes consent to the processing described in this policy.

This site is served over HTTPS. The WebAssembly local-processing architecture minimizes data exposure risk. Because your images never leave your device, there is no server-side data breach risk for your files.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
